People who hoard and/or live in squalor may be required to leave their property for clean ups to occur. It is also important to know who the persons landlord is (if applicable) to ensure people work together to address and minimise risks associated with hoarding and squalor behaviour. It is also vital that tenancy support is sought to ensure that the person is supported to address issues associated with hoarding and squalor and supported ongoing to minimise re occurrence of hoarding and squalor.

The are numerous agencies that provide Housing and homelessness assistance including those effected by family violence. These services may include early intervention to avoid homelessness or support when a client is already homeless.
